"Split Rock at Sunrise"
The world is hushed, the water is edged with ice, and the first light spills gold across the empty harbor. A giant split rock stands quietly in the foreground, its surface catching a fleeting warmth while across the water, rooftops and a distant lighthouse rest beneath a sky brushed with pale blue and winter orange. My breath clouds the air, and the silence feels deeper. In this moment, even as the cold of winter settles in, there is a quiet calm that only the season’s stillness can bring.
